Somewhere On This Planet

Somewhere on this planet
I'm sure you'll soon awake
to find your face on your Daddy's blog
and think for goodness sake.
Though we seem so far away
and all around is weird
The God who made both you and I
can hold us when we're a-fear'd.
You know I'm not a poet
but at least I took a try.
Just know we love and miss you and ...
awe geeez another tear is in my eye.
Love you Tara, Pops

This is so sweet. What a love for your daughter. I know my daddy & I share the same unconditional love for each other, and I can only imagine how proud you are of her. Thanks to her for her bravery & selflessness!

I think this is sweet. What a good Daddy you are. I am sure when she sees this she will smile... and maybe she will shed a tear while missing her Dad.

This is so choice. I love the photo. The title. The poem. The emotion. Wonderful, wonderful post.

Please stop by on Thursday, after midnight on Wednesday even, at Portland Oregon Daily Photo to see my first ever embedded video. It shows my younger son Leland bouldering at The Circuit in Portland, Oregon, as filmed by his older brother Lamont, who also boulders.
